Hack Social Media v1.1: Because Thinner is Better

If you’ve checked out Hack Social Media as you usually do every morning when you wake up, yes, the rumors are indeed true: The theme has been updated. If not, clear your browser’s cache. Hey, doesn’t that usually work?

Anyhow, just as Apple these days are making their latest gadgets thinner and lighter than its predecessors, that’s the theme I pursued with this update. Before, the main content section was housed inside a roomy 1190px container. Problem is, it made content less readable. Who wants to scan a single line of text from one end of their monitor to the other?

Indeed, the content is now squeezed down an astonishingly magical 16% thinner container, settling at 1024px. I don’t imagine this trend will continue given how screen monitor resolutions are racing higher and higher.

Other than that, there were a bunch of other changes that were made that I won’t list here. There are still plenty of things I would like to update, but I’ll leave that for v.1.2.

If you want to compare the revamped theme with the old theme, here’s a screenshot of v.1.0: http://cl.ly/0h2U321a1F3P0w0R2M3r
